The first week of the NYC Data Science Academy Bootcamp has come and gone. This week we started off with an overview of working with the Linux command line interface, Git and GitHub, SQL, and ended with diving into the basics of R follwed by how to utilize dplyr. At this point only dplyr was entirely new for me, but I did gain a deeper understanding of the other subjects through doing exercises that I never came across during self-study.
Next week the bootcamp settles down into a steady rhythm as we transition into Data Visualization with R and building web apps with Shiny. At the end of the week our first project is due. Time to get the show on the road.
